Monday, April 21st, marks the fifth of seven exact squares (a challenging relationship) between Pluto and Uranus. Although the larger timeframe involving these two began in 2008 and continue until 2018, there are seven exact dynamic connections between 2012 and 2015.
This fifth connection is particularly highlighted because it involves two additional planets, Jupiter and Mars at the same point (degree), forming a Grand Cardinal Cross. Now we have squares and oppositions, creating dynamic tension. On April 23rd, all four planets will be at 13. The energy of cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, initiates and propels us into action.
Here’s a synopsis of the key players:
Pluto
The Lord of the Underworld is taking us to the edge and moving us to TRANSFORMATION. In Capricorn, his task is to expose the existing ego structures and operating principles and break them down. To take us into the shadow, personally or collectively, uncovering anything still standing in the way of us claiming our authentic power. Ultimately, we will die to the old, and birth something new that is good for us. This is the Phoenix, the mythical bird, rising out of the ashes of death and destruction, resurrected and recreated.
Uranus
Pluto has been squaring off with the fierce Sky God, Uranus. Uranus’ directive is the Cosmic Overview and his task is to free and liberate us from the spell we are under. He wants us to break free from the chains that are binding us (Pluto in Capricorn). Uranus says it’s time to “WAKE UP!!!”
In Aries, he wants us to act, assert our independence and defend the Cosmic Order. He has a mission, a cause and wants to rebel. No more to the current power structure and operating system of this planet. It doesn’t work for the whole. Uranus does this via chaos, radical change, the unpredictable and the unknowable.
Jupiter
This god EXPANDS and ENLIGHTENS. Jupiter encourages us to look at the big picture. His domain rules ethics and the law. He’s after the truth. In Cancer, Jupiter is on a vision quest urging us to seriously examine how we are taking care of the planet, our home. And, how are we providing, protecting and responsibly caring for the earth’s family? The basic life sustaining necessities including access to nutritious food, clean water, safe shelter and healthcare that is truly affordable and leads us to wellness, are areas Jupiter wants us to bring to further consciousness.
Mars
Lastly, the God of ACTION, aggression and PASSION fills in the cross. In Libra he wants to fight for what’s fair and defend his ideals. Libra is a sign concerned with relationships. As mentioned in my first Cosmic Stage post for April, balanced Libra considers the perspective of the other, and desires to create a win-win for all. Conscious, co-creative relationships are being highlighted now and throughout this entire 26 month Mars cycle.
Although there are events occurring on a global level connected with this grand cross, it’s helpful to remember that, “As above, so below, as within, so without.” These energies reflect the whole and each one of us. Energy is neutral until it is directed. Use this tremendous opportunity to make transformative, liberating, expansive changes in your life. Take action!!! There will be further opportunities between now and July to see the fruit of your efforts.
The Earth is in the midst of a planetary alignment connected to a 26,000 year cycle which astrologers call, “The Turning of the Ages.” Phew! As earthly beings, how can we even begin to comprehend such a thing? Most do not at a conscious level. Lightworkers intuitively understand this. Let’s just say it’s about a radical shift, a balancing out of the masculine and feminine energy and a return to the “Golden Age” on our planet. Seems to me we have a long way to go. This month will shift that in a big way.
